Viscosity of Suspensions
AbstraktRelations for calculation of apparent viscosity of suspensions valid up to high concentrations of the solid phase were derived. The relations were verified using data on viscosity of suspensions of calcium nitrate tetrahydrate in solutions obtained by decomposition of phosphates with nitric acid. The applicability of the derived relations was proved in the whole range of suspension concentrations. The obtained data are important both for assessment of the ability of suspensions to be stirred and for selection of a suitable stirrer type.
