Abstract

At present, nuclear energy significantly contributes to the production of electricity in the Czech Republic and, according to the long-term energy concept, its role will be even more significant in the future. As a result of the radiation accidents (Chernobyl, Fukushima), many misconceptions exist among the public. Therefore, a teaching activity, aimed to introduce the topic of radiation accidents using articles and interviews, was prepared and verified in the classes. The topic is conceived as interdisciplinary, including the integration of cross-sectional topics of the media education and the environmental education.
