Abstract

This article presents tips and recommendations for test creation (not only in chemistry). First, a general characteristics of tests, the individual items and distractors are defined. Subsequently, 7 tips and recommendations are given, shown on 12 test items. For each test item, the success rate, sensitivity and distractor attractivity are calculated. Finally, the impact of a low correlation coefficient between real and expected item difficulty is discussed.
